1w Led Driver Circuit Lm317

Do this at your own risk. I made a constant current LED driver using the LM317 adjustable voltage regulator. While it is not as efficient as the switch mode type driver, it is simple and easy to make. The LM317 with the adjustable trim resistor let me adjust the voltage up or down so I can use it as a dimmer.
At 7.2 volt, the 2 one watt LEDs can be very bright. Adjusting the voltage down to about 6 volt, the LEDs are reasonably bright and draws only 1 watt. I can easily connect this to my portable power supply or attach it to my PC power supply. Current limiting is done with 4 ohms of resistance at 1 watt.
